Psalms 18:30 [As for] God, his way [is] perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he [is] a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Perfect means, without fault or mistake; thoroughly skilled. I can call it the highest form of purity. Biblically, being perfect means, without blemish, upright, without spot.
Who is perfect?
During the first creation, we were created in the image of God, and it made us to be perfect beings, but we lost it through the sin of disobedience.
Though, we lost our perfection, it didn’t change or affect God’s perfection. The Psalmist made it clear to us that, even though we lost our perfection, “As for God, His way is perfect.”
So God alone is perfect. There is no form of sin in Him, He is just and upright. We were also informed in Job 34:10 “Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, [that he should do] wickedness; and [from] the Almighty, [that he should commit] iniquity.”
It can’t be known for God to reduce below the level of perfection.
Our God is a God of relationship, that made Him, out of His unending love to provide a means, He can use to relate to us, they imperfect beings, by sending His only Son. His Son, our Lord Jesus, opened the portal for a perfect God to relate with imperfect beings.
God has great plans for us, not to leave us in this state of imperfection, but urges us to be holy because He is holy.
We can also see God’s perfection in creation; thoroughly skilled, how He made the earth and all in it.
This is a call for you to pursue perfection, because God Almighty is your Father.
Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
